Argentina's securities commission CNV has put out to public consultation proposed regulations that would permit the creation of a new type of mutual fund.
These funds, CNV said in a statement, would enjoy a looser investment policy framework and be aimed exclusively at qualified investors.
Comments will be received over a period of 15 business days starting October 10.
In May the lower house voted into law a capital markets bill. Key aims are developing the country's capital markets - currently among the smallest in Latin America - and attracting investment.
