Doctors are also able to rapidly consult patient history at their clinic and are even in the habit of answering patients' queries by email or Whatsapp. And pharmacies know immediately whether a prescription is covered by health insurance.
However, technology vendors assert that the industry is barely scratching the surface of the possibilities for improving efficiency through ICT.
