Suez Environnement is a French utility group that provides solutions related to drinking water management, wastewater treatment and waste recovery. It also offers consulting services for project development, focused on the design, construction, operation and financing of plants and systems. It has operations in 70 countries with more than 300,000 industrial and business clients. In 2008, as a consequence of the merger between Gaz de France and Suez, the latter consolidated all its environmental operations within Suez Environnement. Two years later, the company took control of Spain's largest water company Aguas de Barcelona (Agbar), which owns companies in Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Brazil. Suez Environnement also operates in Latin America through its subsidiary in Mexico formerly known as Degrémont, which obtained contracts to develop projects in countries including Panama, Mexico, Chile and Brazil.
