Total E&P do Brasil Ltda. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the French oil multinational Total Group. The company's portfolio comprises 17 offshore blocks, specializing in deep water exploration. Total Its main assets include a stake in the Libra field consortium and the five blocks in the Foz do Amazonas basin (FZA-M-57, FZA-M-86, FZA-M-88, FZA-M-125 and FZA-M-127), acting as operator with a 40% stake. Regarding the Libra field, the company holds a 20% in the consortium, with Petrobras (40%) acting as the operator. Other minority shareholders are Shell (20%), China National Offshore Oil Corporation (10%) and China National Petroleum Corporation (10%). The pre-salt ultra-deep well is located in the Santos basin, offshore Rio de Janeiro, and covers an area of 1,550sq km. In 2016, Total signed an Assets Package Agreement with Petrobras to partner in two pre-salt licenses of the Santos basin: BMS-11, with Total acquiring a 22.5% interest and BMS-9, with Total acting as the operator, as well as the holder of a 35% interest. Total E&P do Brasil was incorporated in 1975 and is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro city.
