Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda. is a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc, engaged in oil and natural gas exploration and production. It is headquartered in Río de Janeiro and it was incorporated in 1913. The firm has interests in five discoveries in Santos basin: Lula, Iracema, Sapinhoá, Lapa and Iara, and has a working interest in Parque das Conchas project, located in Campos basin, and is part of a consortium to operate the Libra field. Shell Brasil also operates the Bijupirá and Salema fields with an 80% interest in partnership with state-owned company Petrobras. Another business line is lubricants, services targeted at the maritime segment and the joint venture Raízen, involved in sugar and ethanol production, electric power generation, and fuel supply and distribution for retail and commercial clients.
