Seadrill is a Norwegian-Bermudan offshore drilling company. It operates a fleet of 75 units that comprises drillships, jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs and tender rigs for operations in shallow to ultra-deepwater areas in 15 countries on five continents. Its South American operations include the leasing of semi-submersible rigs West Taurus and West Orion to Brazil's Petrobras and West Pegasus to Mexico's Pemex. The Petrobras contracts are set to expire in February 2015 and July 2015 respectively while Pemex has extended a deal for West Pegasus until August 2016. Seadrill's regional fleet also includes the West Mischief drillship, which last month completed a six-month stint in offshore Colombia. The company has a Latin America backlog of US$2.62bn in semi-submersible rig and drillship leases. The sum includes orders worth US$1.95bn in Brazil, US$632mn in Mexico and US$37.5mn in Colombia. Seadrill is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
